Brand new in 2008, this spectacular top floor apartment with balcony and extra-large terrace all on one level has been furnished to provide very comfortable accommodation for four people, with satellite TV, internal telephone and free Wi-Fi internet access.
The apartment is a spacious 2-bedroom/1-bathroom apartment on the 3rd floor accessible by stairs and large lift, with a balcony and wrap-around sun terrace. Air conditioning & radiator heating throughout make it an ideal choice for any time of the year. The balcony overlooks the pools and garden, and the terrace gives you views of the clubhouse and driving range and further country and mountain views to the south and overlooks the gardens and pools with glimpses of the mountains to the north. Even if you are not a golfer this resort offers fantastic facilities for a relaxing holiday.
La Torre is only 20 minutes from the Mar Menor. 
This saltwater lake, formed by volcanic activity, is in an area of outstanding beauty. The beaches at Santiago de La Ribera and also Los Alcazares offer superb facilities with easy parking along the various promenades. The water remains a degree or two warmer than the Mediterranean throughout the year, and offers shallow water for safe bathing, and a multitude of sailing, diving and watersports centres. It is also a popular area for walking, cycling and horse-riding. La Torre is also situated just 45 minutes from the Parque Natural Sierra Espuna, so you can spend a day in the mountains! La Torre, being centrally placed in Murcia, offers a number of “days out” to historic cities, museums, art galleries, festivals and entertainment, just 25 minutes from Murcia City and 30 minutes to the historic port of Cartegena.
For golfers, a free shuttle bus is provided during the week for easy access to two further Polaris golf courses, tee times for which can be booked on your own internal telephone. A shuttle bus is also available for a day trip down to the beach during high season for a small charge (check at the hotel for details). Bicycle hire is available at the supermarket for both adult and child bikes from only 8 Euros per day.
The apartment accommodates 4 people very comfortably and a cot and highchair are available if required. The balcony/terrace has a patio table and 4 chairs, 2 sun-loungers, 2 fold-up loungers which can be taken down to the pool area, plus 2 picnic chairs, cool box & cool packs. There is also a storage room off the terrace which can be used to store suitcases and golf clubs.
Polaris Golf Resorts are gated communities, offering an extremely safe environment. La Torre is beautifully landscaped with wide boulevards and plenty of car parking by the apartment. As well as the 18 hole par 68 golf course, there are tennis courts, plus the facilities offered by the 5* Intercontinental Hotel. The apartment is just a stone’s throw from the resort town centre which has been built beside a large lake. The centre has a number of restaurants, bars, beauty salon, bank and taxi office. There is an entertainment programme during July and August and the La Torre website, www.torreonline.es has up to date details. The recently completed hotel provides a range of additional facilities, including indoor swimming pool, spa and treatment rooms, and is just a few minutes’ walk away. In 2011 there was a daily charge of €10 to use the hotel pool and steam room for all day.
La Torre is located part-way between the capital Murcia (20 minutes) and the Mar Menor (15 minutes). Staying at La Torre also enables you to play at the other two Polaris World golf courses in the region (free transport provided throughout the day and evening). Anyone staying at our apartment benefits from resident green fee rates, and Polaris regularly offer special packages (see their website for full details). You will need a handicap to play. Further details regarding the Jack Nicklaus designed 18-hole course are also available on their website. You can hire manual trolleys, electric trolleys or electric buggies and, although there is a dress code and Polaris request a handicap for players, handicaps can be assessed on arrival, lessons can be arranged, and again full details are available on their website. Activities on the Mar Menor include an enormous range of sports, plus horse riding, scuba diving, fishing and boat hire.
Apartment Description
The lounge area has a 3-seater settee and a 2-seater settee in chocolate brown leather, plus matching pouffe. The extra large satellite TV has 52 English channels and 26 Spanish channels, and a DVD player that also plays audio CDs and MP3 CDs. The apartment has an internal telephone so you can book restaurants and tee times. Free Wi-Fi Internet access is also available in the apartment (you need to bring your own laptop/phone/smartphone) or at the golf-house (paid-for access and PCs provided). 
The dining area contains an extending table and four chairs.
The separate kitchen contains a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven, cafetierre, coffee maker, and fitted oven and hob. The utility area has a washing machine, drying rack, iron and ironing board. We have also provided a cool box plus cool packs and 2 picnic chairs.
The main bedroom has a king-size bed, bedside table and drawers, and a built-in wardrobe with additional drawers.
The second bedroom contains two 3ft single beds (these can be zipped together to form an extra-large double bed on request), bedside tables and a built-in wardrobe with additional drawers.
The bathroom has a full bath with overhead shower, plus washbasin, toilet and bidet.

The golf course offers a natural grass driving range with 20 bays, putting and chipping green and a practice bunker.
Our apartment is within a few minutes walk of all the resort facilities. Take a look at the plan of the resort. The size of the resort means that not all rental locations at La Torre are so handy!
There are public green fees, but we send you a form to benefit from the resident green fees saving you about 30%. This must be arranged before the holiday and you will need to take your handicap certificate with you. We recommend that you check out the special offers that are published at the pro-shop. Check out additional discounts depending on time of day such as twilight golf.
La Torre is a thriving community with many residents living there permanently. Residents have their own Golf Club, and those renting our apartment are welcome to join residents on golf days, and social occasions. Additional Information
Duvets, pillows, sheets and apartment towels are provided. Towels for the pool and beach are available at €2 each, payable locally. High chairs, cots and welcome packs, together with additional cleaning or laundry can also be arranged. For the benefit of all users, the apartment is for non-smokers only and pets are not allowed.
Travel Details
Here are the directions to La Torre from the airport.
A number of low-cost airlines fly direct to Murcia (San Javier) airport from regional UK airports throughout the UK, and the apartment is only a 20 minutes drive when you arrive. You can also fly into Alicante, if you don’t mind a drive of approximately 1 hour. But the roads are good and the drive is easy. Don’t forget prices for low-cost airlines can change almost hour by hour, so it’s worth checking them out at different times. We can provisionally reserve your holiday dates for up to 48 hours to enable you to book the best flights.
Although you can holiday easily without a car, hiring a car helps to make the most of the area. We have a local contact for collection from the airport, please request more details. If you would prefer to arrange your own transfers to and from the airport you may find this website useful. Polaris run a “local” shuttle bus between their golf resorts during the week, so you can play onthose courses too! But by hiring a car you can experience much more – there is so much to see and so many beaches and activities accessible within quite short journeys.
